WHAT TO CONSIDER WHEN PLANNING TO PROTECT YOUR TESLA:
ARE THE “T” BADGES AND OTHER EMBLEMS REMOVED WHEN APPLYING PAINT PROTECTION FILM?
It is totally up to the owner. We typically like to be as least invasive as possible when applying paint protection film. The film is not permanent, and may need to be replaced in the near term if any damage is incurred. We want this process to be safe and cost effective. However, the Tesla “T” and other emblems are cheap and readily available, where a Land Rover Hood Emblem for example is $400+. We have the exact Tesla factory templates used to apply the emblems to ensure perfect fitment. If we want to leave them in place, the XPEL DAP Design Software cuts around them perfectly.
CAN YOU MATCH THE COLOR OR DARKNESS OF THE FACTORY REAR WINDOWS WITH WINDOW TINT ON THE TWO FRONT WINDOWS?
Yes, the Tesla factory tint is set at 20%. The XPEL XR+ Ceramic Window Tint n 20% matches perfectly.
WHEN TINTING THE REAR WINDOWS ON THE MODEL 3 IS IT DONE IN A SINGLE PIECE OF FILM?
The technology in installation tools has come a long way in the past few years. We now have the XPEL DAP Software that provides perfectly designed patterns for every area of the car that can be perfectly adjusted and pre-cut on the Graphtec 60″ Plotter to wrap edges and customize coverage. There is no need to hand trim paint protection film over the paint, possibly cutting through and damaging the factory finish.
DOES YOUR SHOP HAVE EXPERIENCE INSTALLING THE XPEL STEALTH SATIN PAINT PROTECTION FILM?
Yes, as the XPEL Dealer of the Year for 2019 and 2020 we have a ton of experience with the STEALTH film and have applied to many Tesla’s. The film is fantastic and provides a very healthy natural look as it allows the natural paint color to transfer through and does not fade.
